Moved by the devastating situation of India in the fight against the Coronavirus, former Australian pacer Brett Lee has donated one bitcoin, which translates to nearly Rs 40 lakh in Indian currency to lend a helping hand for the country.

In his tweet, the speedster said, he is saddened to see people suffering from the pandemic. I would like to donate 1 Bitcoin to help in buying oxygen supplies for the hospitals, Brett Lee said.

"It saddens me deeply to see people suffering due to the ongoing pandemic. I feel privileged to be in a position of making a difference and with that in mind, I’d like to donate 1 BTC (Bitcoin) to Crypto Relief to help with the purchase of oxygen supplies for the hospitals across India," his tweet reads.

Calling India a second home, Brett Lee said the love and affection he received from the people of the country during his career and after his career holds a special place in his heart.

"India has always been like a second home for me. The love and affection that I have got from the people of this country both during my professional career and even after my retirement, holds a special place in my heart, " he said in the post he shared on Twitter.

With this, Lee became the second player from Australia to help India in the fight against Covid-19. The other day, Australian pacer Pat Cummins, who represents Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL announced a donation of $50,000 to 'PM Cares Fund'.

In the post on his Twitter, the speedster encouraged his other IPL players and others, who are touched by India’s passion and generosity to contribute to the country.
