By: Tupaki Desk | 18 Sep 2021 1:13 PM GMTIn the wake of the political crisis in the Punjab Congress, senior Congressman and Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had created a situation to attend the new leader by stepping down as the Chief Minister. He had submitted his resignation in a formal way.
Mr. Singh met the Honorable Governor at the Raj Bhavan on Saturday and offered his resignation. Along with his resignation, the resignation of the Ministers in his Cabinet was also submitted. His media advisor had announced the news of resignation on Twitter.
Media reports say that after submitting the resignation, Amarinder Singh told the reporters that he had decided to resign from his Chief Minister as he felt humiliated with the Congress party doubting his ability. Calling the MLAs for the meetings says that the party has a doubt on me. The party can pick anyone as the Chief Minister candidate whom the party thinks is a correct leader, he said.
Talking to the reporters, Mr. Singh had cleared the airs of leaving the Congress and said he will continue in the political outfit. I will announce my next step after discussing with people who are close to me, he said.
On the other hand, the leaders who were asked to attend the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meeting had reached Chandigarh. The invitees include Assembly Speaker Rana KP Singh and others. Now all eyes are on the meeting on what decision will the meeting take.
