After reporting over 40,000 cases for two days, India has third highest Covid-19 infections

The fresh development took place when a few regions in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh are witnessing the second wave of the pandemic and the governments imposed partial lockdown to curb the infections.
As per the information shared by the Union Health Minister, Maharashtra reported the highest fresh infections in 24 hours with 24,645, followed by Punjab (2,299), Gujarat (1,640), Chhattisgarh (1,525), and Karnataka (1,445).
Looking at the fatalities related to the respiratory disease, the count mounted to 1,60,166 after not less than 199 people breathed their last battling the ongoing pandemic in the past 24 hours.
The active cases and recovered cases in the country stood at 345,377 and 11,181,253. So far, nearly 95.67 percent of the pandemic patients have been declared cured in the country.
With the steady rise in the fresh Coronavirus infections, the experts are warning the public to not keep the Covid-19 guard down and appealed everyone to follow the Covid-19 appropriate behavior, or else the situation might get even scarier.
On the other hand, several countries are facing the wrath of the second wave of the pandemic. India has the third-highest Corona infections, while the United States and Brazil are in the top two places.
