Ahead of the polls in five states, Congress working on tackling financial crisis!

But things went upside down for the party after the 2014 election result. The situation of the Congress party has reached a level that the political outfit is in a deep financial crisis.
The All India Congress Committee(AICC) has chaired crucial meetings with various wings of the Congress party in January. It is said that focusing on financial support is the main topic that came for the discussion.
The leaders of Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Punjab wings were called for the meeting separately. The invited leaders include Ministers and office-bearers.
Media reports have claimed that various topics were discussed in the meeting, but the main issue that was discussed is the financial situation of the Congress party.
The Congress party which is blinking in several states has shifted its focus to five poll-bound states- Kerala, Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry. The Congress party's chances of winning the polls largely depend on the corporate funds.
The saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) which has managed to create a wave among the public and political parties before the 2014 elections has received a total of corporate donations worth Rs 2,319.49 cr, followed by INC(376.02 cr), NCP(69.81 cr), AITC(45.02 cr) and CPM(7.50 cr).
All these major political outfits including national and regional parties have managed to get corporate funding for their respective parties for a course of six years, between 2012-13 and 2018-19.
The rise of the BJP in various states has also played a crucial role in pushing the Congress party towards a financial crisis. The Congress party has received corporate funding of Rs 122.5 cr, while BJP received massive funds of Rs 698.1 cr.
