Ahmed Patel Admits To Getting Rs 550 Crore
By: Tupaki Desk | 7 March 2020 9:57 AM ISTBoth the TDP and the Congress are in a state of shock as Sonia Gandhi's political secretary Ahmed Patel has admitted that the party had taken Rs 550 crore. He has also admitted that he had got the summons from the IT department and said he would present himself before the IT sleuths soon after the parliament session.
Ahmed Patel, who was served summons on February 14 earlier, did not attend the questioning citing health reasons. Meanwhile, Ahmed Patel's latest statement is being seen as an open admission of the financial link between the Telugu Desam and the Congress Party. The TDP was accused of funding the Congress election campaign in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and other states. There were also reports of Rs 20 crore being recovered from MP CM Kamal Nath's residence.
The IT sleuths, who were probing into the kickbacks from a Mumbai-based infra firm to a political biggie in AP, have already questioned Chandrababu Naidu's former PA Srinivasa Rao . The sleuths also found that another Rs 550 crore were routed through a different channel. It is in this connection that the IT sleuths have issued summons to Ahmed Patel.
