Air India flight over Tirumala irks TTD Officials
By: Tupaki Desk | 14 Jun 2015 8:47 AM GMTTTD Officials have strongly condemned the incident where an Air India flight flew over Tirumala on Saturday.
An Air India Airbus A 321 from Tirupati to Delhi with 170 people on board flew over the hill shrine at around 3 PM Yesterday. Soon, TTD Joint Executive Office KS Sreenivasa Raju contacted Airport Authorities at Renigunta to enquire how this happened.
Although Tirumala isn't a no-flying zone, Flights flying over the shrine is very rare. Due to the presence of clouds, Air India Pilot sought the permission of Air Traffic Control to fly over Tirumala and it was granted.
In 2012, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams placed the demand of making the hill shrine a no-flying zone before State Government in view of possible terror attacks. However, The decision was kept pending since then. TTD Officials now demand the Government to declare Tirumala as the no-flying zone with immediate effect.
