125 AI Cabin Crew to be sacked for Over-Weight

The AI Personnel which are likely to be shows doors include Air Hostesses. While some of them will be assigned the job of ground duty, Rest of them will be asked to accept Voluntary Retirement.
As many as 600 overweight Cabin Crew personnel were hired last year and they were asked to get into shape within a stipulated time frame. 125 out of them failed in maintaining the required Body Mass Index (BMI). So, These members will be soon free of flying duty.
DGCA Norm: Body Mass Index - 18-25 for Men and 18-22 for Women. Currently, Air India have 3,500 cabin crew and out of them 1,300 are on Contract.
