The flag carrier airline of India, Air India achieved a huge milestone, by inaugurating the San Francisco -Bengaluru flight route, which marks the longest flight route. The flight left from San Francisco on Sunday and reached Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on Monday.

The milestone is very special for Air India, as the longest commercial flight in the world was entirely taken care of by the All-Women Air India cockpit crew.

Air India"s carrier Flight AI176 that reached India from San Francisco by crossing the North Pole and took the Atlantic route to Bengaluru covered a total of 16000 kilometers.

Captain Zoyal Aggarwal led the All-Women Air India cockpit crew, which landed the flight successfully, who is very proud of pulling achieving a rare feat that will be a great chapter in the history of Indian Aviation history.

Wishes poured in for the women pilots for the historic achievement. Union Minister for Civil Aviation and Air India showered praises on the All-Women Air India cockpit crew.

"Way to go girls!Professional, qualified & confident, the all women cockpit crew takes off from San Francisco to Bengaluru on @airindiain's flight to fly over North Pole. Our Nari Shakti achieves a historic first," Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted.

"Air India too expressed its elation when it tweeted, "Imagine this: -All Women Cockpit Crew. -Longest flight into India. -Crossing the North Pole, it"s here & happening! Records broken. History in the making by AI176 from @flySFO to @BLRAirport. AI 176 is cruising at 30000 feet," Air India tweeted.
