Akhilesh Yadav promotes himself as SP Chief

Following his expulsion from the party and revocation of it within a day, Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav dared to organize a national convention to promote himself as the new chief of Samajwadi Party in place of his father & founder Mulayam Singh. Whereas, Mulayam Singh was given the post of SP's Mentor.
In the same meeting, Akhilesh sacked his uncle Shivpal Yadav as party's state chief and MP Amar Singh from the party.
During his speech, Akhilesh accused his uncle Shivpal Yadav of misleading Mulayam Singh. He claims to have taken some tough decision to retain power in the upcoming Assembly polls.
Mulayam Singh, however, rejected the resolution passed by Akhilesh Yadav and termed the national convention as unconstitutional. He called for a convention on January 5th.
