"Politics Is Not On My Agenda," Says Star Hero

During a media interaction on Monday, the 'Airlift' actor was asked about the same but he has rubbished all the rumord about his political entry. "No, I won't be contesting any elections," said Akshay during the press conference of his upcoming movie 'Kesar'. "Politics is not on my agenda. I feel like what I am doing through my films, I will never be able to do that through politics." Added Akshay. There were rumours that the BJP was planning to field him from Amritsar but the 'Gold' star has denied all the rumors. It all started when PM Narendra Modi tagged top politicians and actors, including Akshay, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan etc on Twitter urging them to encourage people to vote in the Lok Sabha elections. Akshay had responded to the PM, saying, "Well said @narendramodi ji. The true hallmark of a democracy lies in people’s participation in the electoral process. Voting has to be a superhit prem katha between our nation and its voters."
On the work front, Akshay is has a bunch of films in his pocket at the moment including, 'Kesari', 'Good News', 'Mission Mangal' and Housefull 4 this year.
