In what it could be a shocker, the global health agency WHO said that it had identified fake Covishield doses in India and Uganda. The WHO warned about the issue to the Centre.

While issuing an alert in this regard, the WHO asked the Centre to have a vigil on the hospital facilities, clinics, distributors and suppliers to identify the fake Vaccine doses.

WHO has termed the identification of the fake vaccine doses a serious problem as the world is currently battling the deadly pandemic.

These false vaccines not only put the health of those who take the doses at great risk but also pose a great threat to the health systems of various countries. It is a serious issue now, the WHO said.

WHO urged India to look for such fake vaccines and stop those vaccines to reach more people. The supply system, from where it is being supplied and where it reaches should be identified and stopped as soon as possible, WHO maintained.

Talking about the identification of the fake vaccine doses, WHO said, the doubt on the fake doses was raised when it was informed about the vaccine doses of Covishield in 2ml doses.
