All-Party Meeting: Time-Wasting Exercise!
By: Tupaki Desk | 31 Jan 2019 7:28 AM GMTUndavalli Arun Kumar convened an All-Party Meeting to bring all the political parties under one platform to fight for AP interests.
Ministers Somireddy, Anand Babu and Planning Board Vice-Chairman Kutumbha Rao represented TDP. Former Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao spoke on behalf of BJP. Pawan Kalyan himself took part in the meeting as a representative of JSP. CPI sent its general secretary Ramakrishna. Aam Aadmi Party also took part in the meeting. YSR Congress and CPM has boycotted it.
TDP argued Centre should pay Rs 1.16 lakh crore to Andhra Pradesh as per the statistics they have. Whereas, IYR Krishna Rao accused TDP of not disclosing the facts regarding the funds disbursed by Centre to AP to project BJP as a villain. What followed is a heated argument between TDP and BJP Representatives. Post the hours long session, Undavalli declared that the meeting has been successful.
People wonder how could the All-Party Meeting be taken seriously when Main Opposition, which is likely to win majority of MLA and MP Seats in the next elections as per surveys, give it a miss. How could Undavali declare it as a successful meeting when no resolutions were passed? Is there any guarantee that all the parties who attended the meeting will fight collectively for the state post the elections? All-Party Meeting is more like a time-wasting exercise...isn't it? Better if Undavalli uses all of his knowledge and experience in a much better fashion if he wishes to contribute to the progress of AP.
