Amid rising Covid-19 infections, lockdown extended in Amravati, Achalpur for a week!

With no sign of a decrease in the fresh Coronavirus cases, the authorities have decided to extend the lockdown in Amaravati, Akola, Akot, and Murjitapur regions for one more week reportedly.
The lockdown has been extended till the 8th of March. Barring the essential commodity selling shops all the shops, educational institutions, coaching classes, and other gatherings will be not allowed in these regions.
A week lockdown was imposed in Amravati and Achapur regions on the 21st of this month after the new strains of the virus have been detected. With a rise in new infections, the lockdown was extended for one more week.
The new development came after Maharashtra registered more than 8,000 fresh Covid-19 infections in the past 24 hours. On Friday, the state added not less than 8,333 new cases, which takes the state's caseload to 21,38,154.
With Maharashtra witnessing a constant rise in fresh Covid-19 infections, the neighbouring state Madhya Pradesh responded quickly and appealed to the people to be cautious and directed the public to not visit Maharashtra.
