Recently, Amit Shah met Kapil Dev as part of 'Sampark For Samarthan' campaign and briefed him about the achievements of NDA Government. Speculations are abuzz that BJP Chief offered to nominate Kapil Dev to Rajya Sabha in Sports Quota during this meeting.
Term of 7 Rajya Sabha Seats in President's quota fell vacant. One of these seats could be assigned to the Cricket Legend. Neither BJP nor Kapil confirmed the reports in circulation so far.
