Few days ago, BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha commented it would be matter of pride if Amitabh Bachchan, a cultural icon, becomes the President of the Country.

On Thursday, Former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh hinted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to propose Amitabh's name as the next President of India.

Responding to the buzz, Amitabh told he isn't worthy of such a highly respectable post and also clarifies he hasn't received any such proposal from centre so far. He continues to maintain Politics isn't his cup of tea and there are other ways to contribute to the country or society.

In 1984 Lok Sabha polls, Big B contested from Allahabad segment on Congress ticket and emerged victorious. Three years later, He resigned as an MP and never preferred to be active in politics from then onwards.
