All through her political career, Jayalalitha preferred contesting elections from rural constituencies such as Bodinayakanur (1989), Bargur, Andipatti and Srirangam (2011) which is her home town.
After being acquitted in the illegal assets case, Jaya ordered his party MLA P Vetrivel who is representing RK Nagar Constituency to quit, so that a by-poll will take place within six months. Today, She filed her nomination for the same segment.
Jaya is certain emerge victorious in the RK Nagar by-poll as main opposition DMK declared it isn't in the race for by-poll. Even other parties like MDMK, PMK and VCK have called it quits. BJP and DMDK haven't taken a call on contesting by-election until now. CPI decided to field its candidate.
