In a historic development, Indian-origin Rushi Sunak became the Prime Minister-designate of the United Kingdom. Indians are celebrating Sunak's appointment as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Rishi became the first non-white leader to take the plum post and also created history as the first Hindu to do so.

Indians are celebrating the news more as the British ruled us for over eight decades and an Indian person is going to rule the British as the Prime Minister. Making the news even more special, Rishi Sunak was appointed as the UK PM on the eve of Diwali, one of the biggest festivals for Hindus.

Mahindra and Mahindra Chairman Anand Mahindra also joined the force to celebrate the historic appointment of Rishi Sunak as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Taking to the microblogging site Twitter, Anand Mahindra wished Rishi Sunak and quoted the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Winston Churchill.

In his tweet, he said the former UK PM supposedly said, the Indian leaders would be of low calibre. He said that at the time of partition. Cut to 75 years later, Indian-origin person Rishi Sunak was appointed as the UK PM, 75 years of Indian independence.

His tweet set social media on fire with a good number of likes and retweets. Netizens are liking the time of the tweet made by Anand Mahindra and adding more celebrations by saying that Rishi Sunak was appointed as India entered 75 years of its independence.

Going back into history, British colonial rule is one of the hardest periods India went through. Under British rule, Indians were treated as slaves in their own nation. After reaching a burning point, Indians came under one roof and fight for independence. The wealth India posses was looted by the British rulers and the country was made an underdeveloped nation.

Now the Indian-origin person is made the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Moreover, he is the first person from the Hindu community to take up the post and his cultural identity is making many Indians proud of the position where he reached now.
