AP Congress Rajya Sabha MP wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his 5 minute appointment on October 22nd when he reaches the state to lay the foundation stone for the proposed new capital Amaravati.
The Congress MPs who sought Prime Minister's Appointment include Chiranjeevi, KVP Ramachandra Rao, Subbiramireddy, Jairam Ramesh and JD Seelam. However, AP Congress is yet to receive a communication regarding this matter from PMO.
Congress MPs conveyed to PM Narendra Modi through the letter that implementation of the promises of AP Reorganisation Act 2014 and UPA Cabinet decision of according AP with Special Category Status will contribute to the strong foundation of the state. They also reminded Prime Minister about the 'Special Status' promise he made during poll campaigning in Tirupati and Visakhapatnam. Last but not the least, The Rajya Sabha Members told PM that they were expecting an official announcement from him on Special Status & Special Package prior to Amaravati foundation ceremony.
