The spread of the respiratory virus continues to inculcate fear in the public as the positive cases are increasing rapidly in Andhra Pradesh. The state has been reported the highest single-day cases every other day.

What's raising more concerns is, the virus which was confined to certain areas in the state has been spreading to more and more areas. Lack of vaccine makes the virus more fatal.

In the latest development, AP reported 793 fresh infecting in the past 24 hours and the total cases in the state mounted to 13,891. A few days earlier, AP made it to the list of top ten worst-affected states in the country due to the virus.

Out of the newly reported cases, 706 infections were of locals, while 87 cases belong to Returnees of other states and Foreign Returnees, as per the health bulletin. With 11 fresh casualties, the total fatalities in the state zoomed to 180.

Looking at the district-wide data West Godavari witnessed the highest surge of cases with 113 fresh infections followed by Guntur(98), Anantapur(96), Kurnool(86), and East Godavari(72).

Including 30,216 samples tested in the past 24 hours, Andhra Pradesh so far tested 8,72,076 samples ever since the ongoing pandemic entered the state. AP tops the list in terms of conducting pandemic tests.

Health Officials maintained, conducting the highest pandemic tests, in turn, resulted in more and more positive cases being detected in the state.
