Andhra Pradesh experiences darkness, due to long power cuts!

According to the information, the power cuts are going on since Thursday, which is a result of the cut in power supply to Andhra Pradesh from NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation, which in turn resulted in the state seeing darkness.
It has been widely reported that dues to a tune of over Rs 300 were pending from DISCOMs towards the NTPC. The Central firm is said to have written so many letters to the DISCOMs urging them to pay the long-pending dues. However, there was no response reportedly.
With no response from them, the NTPC had decided to cut the power supply allegedly. The decision was taken after the Andhra Pradesh government did not pay even 30 crores to the NTPC.
After the issue created a lot of problems for the people, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Energy Balineni Srinivas Reddy had opened up on the issue finally and kept the blame on previous Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. The Minister said that the power cut is the result of the pending payments that were supposed to be in TDPâs regime.
The NTPC is believed to have asked the AP DISCOMs to pay a mere amount of Rs 30 crore so that the power supply wonât get stopped. The amount asked by the statutory company National Thermal Power Corporation Limited is less than 10 percent of the total dues.
With no receiving not even 10 percent of the dues, the NTPC had stopped supplying power to the state making the state face long power cuts. The power stopped is said to be to a tune of 800 MegaWatts.
The Andhra Pradesh government not even paying Rs 30 crore is another example of the concerning financial status of the state. This gave birth to a flood of jokes and memes and social media is flooded with viral jokes.
