In the wake of the Covid outbreak, the Andhra Pradesh government has announced the postponement of the SSC Exams in the state. The decision was taken after a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

When the second wave has started in the country, several states have either postponed or canceled the exams, except for Andhra Pradesh. As per the earlier schedule, the SSC exams were supposed to commence from the 7th of June.

During the crucial meeting, the YSRCP chief and Chief Minister took the inputs and suggestions the officials gave. After the meeting, the government has decided to postpone the exams.

On the other hand, the Andhra Pradesh government said that another review meeting will be chaired in July to take a call on exams, and based on the prevailing situations, the decision would be taken,

It has to be noted that, twenty-hour lockdown is active in Andhra Pradesh, in the wake of the state reporting record cases daily. With restrictions being in place, it would be a heavy task for the students appearing for the exams. Considering this, the government postponed the exams.

The development came days after the Education department has reportedly written to Andhra Pradesh that it cannot conduct the exams.
