Andhra Pradesh Government eases the Covid restrictions further from July 8
By: Tupaki Desk | 5 July 2021 9:38 AM GMTThe lockdown restrictions are already in place in Andhra Pradesh, which will come to an end on the 7th of this month. With the fresh Coronavirus infections coming down gradually, the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government has announced the relaxations in the restrictions.
The Andhra Pradesh government announced that the night curfew will remain in place in the 11 districts from 10 PM and 6 AM. All the businesses and business-related operations will be permitted till 9 PM.
However, the restrictions will be eased from 6 AM to 7 PM in two Godavari districts, East Godavari and West Godavari as the districts continue to report more than five percent of Covid positivity rate.
The press release issued by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister's office said that the new restrictions will be active from the 8th of this month. The release said that until the Covid positivity rate reports less than five percent, the restrictions will be imposed.
The Andhra Pradesh government decided to ease the restrictions at a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy with the key officials and Ministers earlier today.
With the further ease of the restrictions, the theatres, gyms, and other establishments will be reopened from July 8. However, 50 percent occupancy should be followed at the establishments, and facemask wearing and physical distancing should be followed.
The Andhra Pradesh government imposed the restrictions earlier in May this year after the cases went up massively. With the cases seeing a steady decline, the government has been lifting the restrictions in a phased manner since June.
