10 New Ports in Andhra Pradesh
By: Tupaki Desk | 31 Aug 2015 3:49 PM GMTAP Government on Monday informed the Assembly about its plans to develop 10 new ports in the state. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu wishes to utilize Andhra's long coastline of 974 kms to the best of his ability during his rule to ensure speedy development.
10 New Ports in Andhra Pradesh: Dugarajapatnam Port, Narsapur Port, Bhavanapadu Port, Machilipatnam Port, Ramayapatnam Port, Nizampatnam Port, Vodarevu Port, Kakinada SEZ Port (captive), Meghavaram Port (captive) and Nakkapalli Port (captive).
AP Government urged Centre to develop the Durgarapatnam Port in Nellore as per the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act 2014. Meanwhile, The task of developing Kakinada SEZ Port (captive), Meghavaram Port (captive) and Nakkapalli Port (captive) is given to various Developers. While land for Bhavanapadu Port in Srikakulam port is already identified, the process is under way for rest of the ports. Nizampatnam and Vodarevu Port have few legal issues.
