Rs 3,846 crore allotted for Krishna Pushkarams

Andhra Pradesh Government is planning the upcoming Krishna Pushkarams on a grand scale. Already, An estimation of total expenditure to carry out the development works stood at Rs 3,846 crore. While Roads and Buildings department seeked funds of Rs 1,961 crore, Municipal Administration & Urban Development department sought Rs 970 crore. Irrigation, Panchayat Raj and Health Departments placed proposals for Rs 664 crore, Rs 140 crore and Rs 40 crore respectively.
Around 125 new bathing ghats will be constructed and renovation of 150-odd temples on the banks of Krishna river in Krishna, Guntur and Kurnool will be taken up. Tenders have been called up for renovation of temples.
Krishna Pushkarams were held once in every 12 years. This year, The Pushkarams will start from August 12th. Government estimates anywhere close to 3 crore pilgrims will be taking the holy dip this time. Toll Free Number 18004256656 has been launched exclusively for Krishna Pushkarams.
