Anna Canteen in AP Secretariat shut down

On the lines of Amma Canteens in Tamil Nadu, AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu took up the mission to set up Anna Canteens all over the state. Two-and-a-half years after the formation of the Government, Anna Canteen was established in the Temporary Secretariat at Velagapudi. However, Its been shut down within a month after the grand launch.
Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) have set up Anna Canteens in the 5th Building of AP Secretariat. The agenda is to provide food at subsidized prices as low as Rs 5. On Thursday, Anna Canteen in Secretariat is being shut down.
Allegations were ripe that some of the Employees Union Leaders have been trying to use the Anna Canteen for their business operations. People complain Anna Canteen is being closed just for the sake of management of other canteen in Secretariat premises. Whatever the reason might be, Employees of lower-income groups are facing problems with these developments.
