Another Congress Municipality in Hyderabad set to fall?

The TRS stars may be down in Telangana, but the attraction to join the party hasn't diminished one bit. The Congress leaders are still finding the TRS an attractive destination. If the incidents in Turka Yamjal are any indication, the TRS is all set to lure the Congress councilors and bag the municipality.
Turka Yamjal is a key civic body on the outskirts of Hyderabad and is a hot realty spot. The Congress had upset the TRS by winning this municipality in the recent elections. But, now it turns out that a majority of the Congress councilors are planning to jump into the TRS. The Congress councilors are now said to be in contact with local MLA Manchireddy Kishan Reddy of the TRS. The MLA is said to have given them assurances about permissions to some controversial ventures in the region. The Congress has 11 out of the 20 seats, while the TRS has six. If five Congress councilors switch sides, then the Congress may lose the municipality.
Malreddy Ramreddy, husband of the municipal chairperson, is eyeing an MLA seat in the next elections and is said to be focusing on Ibrahimpatnam. Due to this, his focus on the municipality has shifted. As a result, the Congress councilors are finding the party less attractive. At least four councilors are said to be in touch with the ruling TRS.
