Another headache for TRS: Discrimination of Hindus alleged in Group 1 exams

Here's something that the TRS would want to desperately avoid ahead of the Munugode bypoll. A slew of videos showing how Hindu aspirants of Group 1 test on October 16 were forced to remove their earrings, mettelu and even their mangalsutra before entering the examination hall have surfaced. What more, Muslim woman candidates did not have to go through all these ordeals.

The incident occurred at the Vidyarthi Junior and Degree college in Adilabad district. Not just that. They were not even asked to remove their hijabs and burqas The videos of this discriminatory treatment have now gone viral and the BJP has taken up the issue. Even the national media too have picked this and began airing debates on the TV. The BJP said that this is pure discrimination of the Hindu students. Why were the burqas not checked," asked the BJP leaders.

The BjP is using this incident to the fullest in Munugode, where a bypoll campaign is on. The TRS argument that even Muslim girls were checked flew in the face of video evidence, where the Muslim girls in Hijab were passing through freely, while Hindu woman candidates were forced to remove all their ornaments before entering the room.

The TRS social media tweeted thus: "At one Centre where TSPSC Group 1 Exam was held Police checked all aspirants as per Govt of India competitive exam guidelines without any partiality. But BJP who wants to disturb the communal peace and harmony of Telangana have shared few selective videos only!" However, the TRS sources are worried about the fallout of the incident and its possible impact on Munugode bypolls.
