In the last week's Maharastra election, BJP won 105 seats, while Shiv Sena won 56 seats, the two parties have 161 seats while the mark is 145 seats. The two parties need each other support to form the government. On Monday Fadnavis and Shiv Sena leader Diwakar Raote, both went and met the governor BS Koshiyari. But both the parties claimed the visit was not political and that they have gone to wish the governor on Diwali.

Shiv Sena is demanding for CM post for two and a half years, a proposal not accepted to BJP. However, there are indications that BJP is ready to give Deputy CM post to Shiv Sena.

Soon after the election results, ShivSena leader Uddhav Thackeray said that Before the Lok Sabha elections, Amit Shah come to my house and we both decided a formula. Now the time has came to implement the formula.

The BJP is clear about Devendra Fadnevis staying CM for the entire term and says there is no such deal before elections, while Shiv Sena wants Uddhav Thackeray's son Aditya Thackeray as Chief Minister.
