Another Setback For TDP: MLA To Meet Jagan Today
By: Tupaki Desk | 19 Sep 2020 2:53 AM GMTThe beleaguered TDP seems to be in for another shock. It is all set to lose another MLA, this time from the North Coastal Andhra. And, this will be the first desertion from the TDP in the north Andhra region.
TDP MLA from Vizag South Vasupalli Ganesh is all set to leave the party. On Saturday, he is set to meet Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He is likely to follow the footsteps of TDP MLAs like Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Karanam Balaram and Maddali Giri. He too is likely not to join the YSRCP officially. He would continue to be in the TDP, but will work in close coordination with the YSRCP inside and outside the house.
Ganesh was upset ever since the party has released letters in his name without consulting on the issue of three capitals. His stand has been not to oppose Vizag as the administrative capital as it would hurt the local sentiments. So, he adopted an ambivalent attitude. However, without consulting him the TDP has issued a letter in his name claiming that he has opposed Vizag as the capital. This would hurt his political capital. Ever since, he was upset with the party leadership. Ganesh's desertion could open the flood gates in North Andhra, analysts feel.
