Telangana CM KCR has slammed the Andhra Pradesh Government saying it was behaving in a high-handed manner on the Krishna river water dispute. He said that he would ensure that the people of Telangana are not put to any difficulty due to the on-going water dispute.

Addressing a public meeting in Haliya after visiting the Nagarjunasagar project on Monday, CR said that 15 lift irrigation schemes would be sanctioned in Nalgonda district to address the water needs of the district. He said five lift irrigation schemes each would be sanctioned for Devarakonda and Miryalguda. One each would be sanctioned in Nakrekal and Huzurnagar, he said. He said that all these projects would be completed within a year-and-a-half, he said.

He further said that instead of playing the mediator, the Central Government was acting against the interests of Telangana. He said that there was no question of compromising on the interests of Telangana and its people. While he was making the speech, he was greeted repeatedly by the audience. They chanted pro-TRS and pro-KCR slogans during his speech.

On the occasion, KCR has showered largesse on Nagarjunasagar assembly constituency. He said he was allocating Rs 150 crore for the constituency. He said the lifts would be completed within 18 months. He said the government would not run away from spending any amount for implementing Dalit Bandhu scheme also. He said he would get a Banjara Bhavan constructed for the Banjara community in the constituency.
