AP Cabinet Gave Its Nod For New Districts
By: Tupaki Desk | 15 July 2020 11:00 AM GMTThe much-awaited Cabinet meeting chaired by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy discussed various issues and took several key decisions in this regard.
As promised earlier, the cabinet gave its nod to form new districts on the grounds of the Parliament constituency. With this, the count of the districts in the state will be increased to 25 from 13.
On the other hand, the cabinet also permitted the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation(APIIC) to raise Rs 2,000 crore to facilitate all the required infrastructure and attract investments in this regard.
To study the problems and issues arises in the process of forming new districts and reorganization of districts an expert committee will be constituted and the government Chief Secretary(CS) will head the committee.
To get a better understanding of various issues in this regard, the panel will be touring across the state and submit a detailed report and the panel is expected to submit the report by the end of March.
The Cabinet approved the YSR Cheyutha scheme which aims at providing financial aid of Rs 75,000 for BC, SC, ST, and minority women. The amount will be given in four phases for the beneficiaries.
