AP CM Jagan Visits Mystery Disease Victims In Eluru

Health authorities could not yet found the cause of the disease, though blood tests and CT (brain) scans were performed. As per reports, the mysterious disease saw people suddenly falling unconscious after suffering from symptoms of fits and nausea.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday visited the Government Hospital there and interacted with those infected by the mysterious disease.
A team of doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences from Mangalagiri visited the hospital and collected blood samples from the patients for a thorough examination.
The number of people suffering from mysterious disease is increasing exponentially. Hour by hour new cases are coming to light. By 5 pm, 451 people had contracted the strange disease, district medical officials said. At present, 171 people are being treated at the Eluru Government Hospital. So far, 263 people have recovered and have been discharged and sent home, officials said.
Meanwhile, 17 of those in critical condition were sent to Vijayawada and Guntur hospitals. So far, there have been 241 males and 210 females. Sixty-four children were diagnosed with the disease. Of those, 40 were boys and 24 were girls, medics said.
