The YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government which is adamant on the new GO to bring down the movie tickets issue across the state had constituted a committee to look into the matter and come up with a comprehensive solution for the issue. The committee was set up recently.

The committee which was constituted to address the tickets price issue is said to have called for a key meeting on Friday and the inaugural meeting was reportedly held virtually given the Covid fear. As per the information, the issues about the facilities at the theatres have come up for discussion.

The Home Secretary, who leads the committee is believed to have noted down the suggestions and inputs from the members of the panel after discussing various issues related to the matter.

After coming to a brief conclusion, Home Secretary reportedly decided that the second round of meetings would be held with the members of the committee in the second week of January for discussion.

Media reports say that the Committee is of the opinion that there is no need of taking a decision in a hurry-burry condition. The reason for this is that a lot of issues should be taken into consideration before filing a comprehensive report on the matter.

As there is a possibility that a few issues might get unnoticed if a decision is taken in a hurry situation. Going by this, the committee reportedly called for a second round of meeting in January despite a few high-ticket films gearing up for a theatrical release.

To see that the much-talked-about movie ticket prices issue is addressed at the earliest, the government formed the committee which sees the Home Secretary as the head of the panel. Other key government officials were also included in the committee.

The film distributors and theatre owners are eagerly waiting on what the committee will decide and what the report will say on the issue.

It is known that a few theatres across the state have been seized by the government and were permitted to reopen the establishments on the condition that the violations should be addressed in one month.
