AP DGP Clarifies On COVID Transmission By Currency Notes

Ever since the outbreak of the deadly COVID virus, many fake news and rumors emerged on social media. To counter those fake news the Andhra Pradesh police said that a WhatsApp number is dedicated to this.
If we send any news to 9071666667 WhatsApp number, the cops will check the facts and authenticity of the news with the concerned numbers and revert back with the correct information about the news.
The number was launched by the AP DGP Damodar Goutam Sawang via online video call in which Badminton sensation PV Sindhu, film stars Adavi Seshu, Nikhil and singer Kondaveeti Satyavati was preset.
The DGP said that the police and cyber department are working closely to detect the fake news and rubbished the rumors that the COVID virus is spread through the currency notes and noted that using digital transactions will be advisable.
He went on to say that 1033 people from AP participated in the religious congregation held at the Maskaz Masjid in the Nizamuddin area of Delhi and 6730 secondary contacts happened with the attendees and the officials have tracked all of them.
