AP DGP Takes Spreading Fake News as Serious

In the wake of fake news being spread on social media, Andhra Pradesh DGP Gautam Sawang has urged the public of the state to not believe the rumours about the deadly coronavirus.
He went on to say that the police department is going to spare those who spread rumours about the coronavirus in social media especially on WhatsApp which is being used to spread the news. He added that cases will be filed if anyone spreads rumours.
He has ordered the district police to look into this and file complaints on those who spread fake rumours which will create panic among people. He also said that even a single case was not registered in AP.
"Every day, the state's medical commissioner, the state's health ministry recalls releasing a special bulletin on Corona," he said.
