It's been 10th of October, yet the government employees and the pensioners are yet to get their salaries and pensions. Let alone PRC and DEA, getting the regular salaries has become a huge ordeal for the employees. Employees Join Action Committee chairperson Bandi Srinivas Rao said that the amount earmarked for payment of salaries was being used to purchase dog biscuits.

Something of this sort has never happened. Never were funds meant for paying salaries used for other purposes, he said. "The government employees, who were disbursing welfare and old age pensions are themselves without salaries," Bandi Srinivasa Rao remarked. He said that both finance minister Buggana Rajendranath and finance secretary Rawat were not present when the employees wanted to meet them.

He demanded that the government announce the PRC and give all arrears before the festival. The employees union leaders said that the government employees were waiting for the PRC announcement for the past 30 months. Yet the government was doing nothing to address the demands of the government employees Amaravati employees joint action committee chairperson Bopparaju Venkateswaru, AP NGO association KV Siva Reddy and others were present.
