AP Government-Approved Footwear Company Worth Rs700 Crore

Apache Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Mambattu, which was formed during the period of the late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, is set to create another SEZ in the state, employing thousands of women, similar to the Brandix SEZ in Visakhapatnam.
Hong Kong-based Intelligent SEZ Development Company came forward to set up a huge footwear manufacturing unit in Chittoor district with an investment of nearly Rs 700 crore. The company CFO Tim Kau To, Chairman Min Hsiu Tsai, APACHE internal control director Hsiao Yun Lee, APACHE administration director Muthu Govinda Swamy on Wednesday briefed Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on investment proposals.
The Intelligent SEZ Development Company has asked the state government to supply electricity for 5 years at fewer rates. State Industries, Commerce and IT Minister Mekapati Gautam Reddy, Chief Minister's Secretary Salman and State Industries Department Secretary Rajit Bhargava were among those present at the meeting.
