Hearing a petition that was filed challenging the government's decision, the court served notices to the government. The issue came up for the hearing before the High Court on Monday.
The members of the Hindu Dharmika Parishad who were not happy with the government reducing the count of the members had knocked on the doors of the High Court against the government's decision. The Members of the Parishad were represented by advocate Umesh Chandra in the issue.
During the arguments, the lawyer told the court that the state government's decision to reduce the members of Dharmika Parishad from 21 to 4 goes against the directives of the topmost court in the country, the Supreme Court.
As a relief to the members, the High Court was satisfied with the arguments and served notices to the government. The notices were served to Chief Secretary and principal secretary Endowments Andhra Pradesh.
The Division Bench of Andhra Pradesh High Court said no to staying the GO on reducing the members as the government is yet to give its response on the same. The next hearing was postponed to four more weeks.
