AP Government moves High Court challenging new app designed by Election Commission!
By: Tupaki Desk | 3 Feb 2021 1:37 PM ISTAndhra Pradesh's state election commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar took another big step on the Local Body elections by focusing on how to address the issues and provide information on the polls.
To address the issues and provide all the required information on the elections, the Election Commission has started a new app named E-watch. Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has released the new app.
However, the Andhra Pradesh government has opposed the E-watch app and knocked on the doors of the Andhra Pradesh High Court against the app. The government has questioned on to what's the need of designing a new app when the apps designed for the Election Commission of India and Panchayati Raj are already there.
The app was designed in a way that the complaints registered will be directed to the concerned officials. A dedicated call center will also be set up so that the complainants can track their complaints.
The Andhra Pradesh government has filed a Punch Motion Petition against the new app introduced by the Election Commission. The High Court has refused the Lunch Motion and said the petition will be heard on Thursday.
