AP Government to extend the services of CS Adityanath Das?
By: Tupaki Desk | 19 Jun 2021 12:31 PM GMTServing Chief Secretary (CS) of Andhra Pradesh Adityanath Das's tenure will come to an end in 10 days. It is said that the state government is likely to extend his serving period.
As per the media reports, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who visited the national capital recently urged the centre for the extension of Das's service as the decision lies with the Centre.
In order to extend the service of the CS, the Department of Personnel and Training, and the Centre should give nod for the same.
However it is also said that he might not get an extension and the government is in favour of senior officer Y Sri Lakshmi for the post.
A few media outlets have claimed that, as the state government is seeing Sri Lakshmi as the next CS, she was given the plum post of special chief secretary, to make the process even simple.
Adding further, these reports claimed that, this is the reason why the state government didn't write to Centre to seek the extension, like how it was sought in the case of former Chief Secretary Neelam Sawhney.
The YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led government have opted to extend her services for two times, three months each time and the letters were sent to the concerned officials before her tenure ended.
It is barely 10 days from now for the retirement date of the present CS. We will get a clarity on this on June 30, the D-Day. Let us wait and see.
