AP Govt's 3rd Installment of Loan Waiver

TDP Government promised to waive Rs 24,000 crore of farmers loans in the state. So far, Two Installments (Rs 11,017 crore) have been paid to the banks. While loans of 25.54 lakh farmers who's loan amount was Rs 50,000 or less had already received one-time settlement, About 35.56 lakh farmers who have loan amount between Rs 50,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh will be paid in five installments.
Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Thursday announced Rs 3,000 crore for Farm Loan Waiver and Rs 2,000 crore for DWAKRA Loan Waiver will be released in the 3rd Installment. He reiterates financial position of AP is in a bad position & GST has put additional burden on the state exchequer.
Close to 10 lakh complaints were registered from the Farmers saying they are yet to receive the loan waiver amount. But, State Government claims 90 percent of the complaints have been resolved. The Ruling Party says farmers are receiving fresh loans though their old loans will be cleared by the Government in five phases.
