The theatre industry in Andhra Pradesh was severely impacted by the pandemic impact. Adding more troubles to the industry, the Andhra Pradesh government had seized a few theatres across the state for not violating a few rules. Giving a major sigh of relief, the state government came up with a piece of good news.

The Andhra Pradesh government permitted the theatres that have been seized by the authorities to reopen the establishments on one condition that the owners should apply for permission to reopen the theatres with the Joint Collector.

The theatres were allowed to reopen establishments while directing the owners to follow all the restrictions and guidelines. The limit for the same has been set for one month.

It has to be noted that the Andhra Pradesh government brought GO no 35 to regularize the ticket fares across the theatres. Besides checking for the ticket fares, the concerned authorities are also seeing if the establishments are following the other guidelines.

As a result, as many as 83 theatres across nine districts in the state were seized by the authorities. With the government permitting the owners to reopen the establishments, the owners got a big relief.

The movie tickets issue took a big turn with actor-director R. Narayana Murthy speaking in favor of the industry. He opined that, imposing new restrictions on the industry when the industry is in the middle of the deep troubles with the Covid impact. Speaking at an event, People's Star Narayana Murthy questioned why such restrictions have been imposed.

To reopen the theatres that were seized by the authorities, the concerned owners should have to pay a prescribed fine. Besides paying the fine, the owners have to focus on looking into the violations detected by the authorities at the time of seizing the establishments. To seek permission for the reopening of the theatres, the owners have to apply with the Collectors of the concerned districts.

As the theatres are gearing up for the reopening, the big-ticket films that are awaiting the release for the forthcoming Pongal season will have a big relief and this would surely benefit the industry.
