AP Govt Bars RMPs From Treat Patients With Cold, Caugh, Fever
By: Tupaki Desk | 11 April 2020 8:17 AM GMTIn a significant decision aimed at controlling the spread of Corona, the Andhra Pradesh Government has directed the Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) not to treat patients who come to them with complaints of cold, caugh and fever. They have also been directed to inform the nearest government about such patients without fail.
The orders issued on Saturday said that some RMPs were found to be treating patients with complaints of cold and caugh. The RMPs should forthwith inform the local health officials of such incident. Every district in the state has been allocated a designated Corona hospital. In addition, there are four state-level Corona hospitals. The RMPs should immediately alert any of these hospitals if they come across any patient with these symptoms. Those illegally and unauthorisedly treating such patients would have to face stern action, the notice said.
AP has reported 381 cases. On Friday alone, as many as 18 new cases were reported from the state. Several areas have been declared as red zones and the lockdown is being strictly implemented in these areas.
