Sensation: AP Govt Issues GO On English Medium!

Andhra Pradesh Government on Wednesday issued a GO to provide English Medium education in Municipal Schools from the next academic year. Its gonna be English Medium Classes for Class 1st to Class 6th from next year onwards.
Teachers will be made to undergo English Coaching for making them fully prepared to teach Students from next academic year. NCRT was assigned the responsibility to conduct the coaching classes for Teachers.
From now, Only those who have expertise in English Language will be offered priority during the Teachers Recruitment Process. State Government will be arranging all the requirements for English Medium teaching. Text Books & Notebooks would be offered to the Students by the Government itself.
YSR Congress Government decided to implement the proposed model inspite of the firm opposition from the Opposition Parties. Lok Satta Supremo Jayaprakash Narayana opined, 'What matters the most is whether we are able to provide quality education to the students or not. 85% of the students in Telugu States gain nothing from the present education system. We are producing useless Engineers. Forcible implementation of English Medium in Government Schools doesn't work. Better to implement it in a phased manner by offering proper training to the Teachers and preparing the Students accordingly'.
