The opinion is getting momentum with the way the YCP led Andhra Pradesh government is going all out to get loans wherever it is possible.
Using another opportunity to get loans, the Andhra Pradesh government is said to have mortgaged a popular park in the temple city Vijayawada, which is spread across around 5 acres. A loan to the tune of over 100 crores was taken.
According to the media reports, using the popular Berm Park in Vijayawada, the government took a Rs 143 Crore loan from HDFC Bank. Though the required procedure is said to have been completed, the loan amount will be released in a phased manner.
Reports are abuzz that Rs 35 crore will be given as the first installment and the rest of the loan will be given soon. The Andhra Pradesh tourism development department had done the required arrangements to take a loan from the bank.
The Haritha Berm Park in the temple city Vijayawada is one of the major attractions of the city. Set up in a vast area, the park sees people across the ages as visitors.
Berm Park also has a few boating points, making it the top preference for the people. The park is used for multi-purposes. Besides all this, the park will also be given on rent. The big hall in the park is used for various occasions, like weddings and other functions.
To provide accommodation for the tourists coming from other cities and places, cottages and hotels were also set up in Berm Park. The popular park is located in a prime location, near the Krishna river. The park is very close to the Prakasham barrage.
Given the huge area in Berm Park, the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) officials have held the Sankranti festival at the park. As part of the celebrations, various programs like the Rangoli celebrations were held. With the same park getting mortgaged in the bank, people have raised their objections to the same.
