The Andhra Pradesh High Court is quite serious on the social media posts row against the judiciary. Unhappy with the posts and comments against the Judges and Courts, the High Court had transferred the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) from the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department.

Recently, the High Court had issued directives to Twitter to take down a few accounts that post derogatory posts against the judges. However, there is no further development in the directives issued by the court. This did not sit well with the court.

During the arguments on the issue, the Andhra Pradesh High Court expressed its dissatisfaction on Twitter not following the instructions and asked the social media giant why the contempt of action should not be taken against the social media giant.

Having slammed the microblogging site in this regard, the High Court with a strong tone told Twitter that if the company won’t follow the law of the land, then the business should have to be shut down. Stressing on the point to delete the posts, the High Court warned that the Police shall be directed to seize the data on the posts.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court had adjourned the next hearing by a week and asked the CBI to give details on when the accused in the issue will be arrested.
