The farmers and the protagonists of Amaravati as the sole capital of AP are waiting with bated breath for the AP High Court to give its verdict on the contentious three-capitals issue. The High Court will give the verdict in the case. The High Court, which has heard the arguments of both the Amaravati farmers, who want only Amaravti to be the capital of AP, and the AP Government, which has proposed Vizag, Amaravati and Kurnool as the three capitals., has reserved the verdict for Thursday.

The division bench comprises High Court chief justice Prashant Kumar Mishara, Justice M Satyanarayana Murthy and Justice DVSS Somayajulu. The verdict would be pronounced on Thursday. The division bench heard the petitions filed by as many as 70 farmers.

Interestingly, realising that there were some loopholes in the three-capitals Act, the AP government has withdrawn the act. This was an attempt to pre-empt the possible quashing by the High Court. However, the petitioners claimed that despite the withdrawal of the act, there were several aspects that needed Court's intervention. Hence there is lot of interest over the High Court's verdict.

The High Court is also likely to pronounce its verdict o the issue of construction of the High Court Complex and the housing complex for the judges. There is lot of interest about the High Court's pronouncement of verdict on the CRDA act and the three capitals issue.
