AP Is Not West Bengal Prashant Kishor!
By: Tupaki Desk | 4 April 2023 6:50 PM ISTYS Jagan Mohan Reddy roped in noted political strategist Prashant Kishor for the 2019 polls. The YSRCP recorded a landslide victory by crushing the grand old Telugu Desam Party. The association between YSRCP and Prashant Kishor did not end even after the elections in the state.
Time passed by and the state is slated for the general elections next year. Yet again the Prashant Kishor team is working for the YSRCP for the next elections. Anna vastunnadu manchi rojulu vastunnai ani cheppandi was the slogan for the last elections. Jaganannaku Chebudam is going to be the slogan for the next polls.
The campaign will start on the 13th of this month. However, the idea is not a new thing and it was tried and tested in West Bengal. The West Bengal government is doing an initiative that helps the citizens to directly connect to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
But Prashant Kishor forgot one thing Andhra Pradesh is not West Bengal and the dynamics are not the same. The opposition parties in West Bengal are not that strong which helped Didi to win the polls. Mamata Banerjee hurting her leg earlier helped her as he campaigned in a wheelchair.
The initiative started in West Bengal is like a double-edged sword. There are many issues in the state and if the issues taken to the CM's notice wont get sorted out it will turn into a big weapon for the opposition parties. The financial situation of the state should also be considered.
Prashant Kishor's working style is that he almost manipulated voters that his client is the right pick for the state. Be it the 2014 Lok Sabha polls in India or the elections in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and others. If we look at the 2019 polls in AP, the same happened.
The PK team took care of social media and added fuel to the Jagan wave. It's been over four years since YCP came to power. Now the same is being implemented. However, the ruling party is neglecting the execution. It has no answer to say what development it did in the state.
Another problem with the Jaganannaku Chebudam is that only Jagan's popularity would be increased and the rest of the legislators would be left alone. The Jagan wave helped the majority of leaders in 2019. But the same would not work this time and the legislators should have their own image. Or else they would lose the polls. So the PK team should look into this.
