Andhra Pradesh minister from Konaseema region of East Godavari Pinipe Viswaroop gave anxious moments to the party leaders, cadres and officials on Friday when he suddenly fell sick. He complained of chest pain and had to be rushed to Rajahmundry for treatment. Though his condition is stated to be out of danger, the YSR death anniversary programmes organised in his constituency of Amalapuram went for a toss due to his sudden indisposition.

Viswaroop suffered chest pain and discomfort while participating in the programmes organised to mark the death anniversary of late YS Rajasekhara Reddy in Amalapuram. He was distributing essential commodities to the poor. He fell down and became unconscious. On knowing his condition, the staff, officials and the party workers rushed him to a local hospital and then to Rajahmundry. He was admitted to a private hospital for treatment. His condition is stated to be out of danger.

Doctors attending on him said that better treatment is being provided to the minister. They said that the condition of the minister is stable and that there is nothing to worry about. His party workers, fans and supporters heaved a sigh of relief on knowing that he is stable.

Viswaroop was in the news when violent protesters who opposed the renaming of Konaseema district after Babasaheb Ambedkar vandalised his house and set it on fire. The minister had to be hurried evacuated to safety by the security personnel. Pinipe Viswaroop is one of the few ministers who was not dropped by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during the recent reshuffle of the cabinet.
