By: Tupaki Desk | 16 April 2022 10:31 AM GMTA section of media and the opposition leaders are targeting the Andhra Pradesh government saying that imposing conditions on the Amma Vodi scheme is not good and the majority of the beneficiaries of the scheme will have to lose the scheme with the alleged conditions the state government had brought.
As the attack had turned intense, the Andhra Pradesh government had hit back at the critics saying that no conditions have been imposed and the opposition is creating and circulating false information on the flagship scheme with some vested interest.
Former Education Minister Adimulapu Ramesh who recently took charge as the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Andhra Pradesh had blasted the opposition leaders for the criticism against the scheme and dared them to prove the claims they have been making.
Adimulapu Suresh alleged that the section of media that supports the opposition party is creating false information on the Amma Vodi scheme while the government had brought no conditions to give the schemes to the beneficiaries.
Highlighting how the government is continuing the Amma Vodi scheme despite the Covid impact, Adimulapu Suresh asked Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh to prove the allegations they made against the scheme. He dared them to show the circular that says the guidelines for the scheme were changed.
The Minister said that the Andhra Pradesh government earned so much good name that the whole country is looking at the state for bringing such a scheme that benefits the school-going children. Saying that around Rs 13 crores were deposited in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries, he advised the opposition leaders to not do such things as it benefits the poor kids.
As per the reports on the Amma Vodi scheme, the beneficiaries should not consume more than 300 units of current and the students who are receiving the scheme should have an attendance of more than 75 percent. On top of this, the beneficiaries should update their details in the Aadhar as per the new districts. If the guidelines were not followed then the beneficiaries cannot get the benefits of the Amma Vodi scheme reportedly.
